The Clachaig t-shirt Competition
Ever wondered whether anyone actually wins those competitions that you’re forever being asked to take part in? Here’s a competition where you’ve got a very high chance of winning, and we’ll publish the winners right here on the web site. It’s the…
Photo of a Clachaig t-shirt in an interesting location competition
Entering is simple.
- Buy a Clachaig t-shirt, You don’t have to, but it’s going to be hard to win unless you’re lucky enough to be sat in front of the Taj Mahal and just happen to bump into someone else who did buy a Clachaig t-shirt and just happens to be wearing it.
- Go somewhere really interesting. Don’t forget to take your t-shirt with you.
- Take a photo of said Clachaig t-shirt in that really interesting location.
- Send it to us here at Clachaig.
That’s it!
For example, just in case the above isn’t clear enough, the first photo in our winners’ gallery is of 8000m-peak-climbing-god Alan Hinkes wearing his t-shirt in front of the world’s second highest mountain K2. That’s what we call an interesting location! Alan would win a prize (if he actually paid for anything at Clachaig in the first place. Yorkshire men for you!)
Email us your photo, preferably in jpeg format at something like 800 x 600 pixels. If we judge it to be a good photo with Clachaig propaganda clearly visible and its in an interesting location (in our opinion) we’ll publish it in our Winners’ Gallery (below).
Prizes! Win a Clachaig T-Shirt!
In return for allowing us to publish your photo here in the image gallery, we’ll send you another Clachaig t-shirt in the size and design of your choice. It’s that simple. No gimmicks. No tricks. Just a great way to get a 2 for 1 deal on our t-shirts, but it has to be ‘interesting’ location!

- Paul Main 400 feet above Hyde Park, taken during a Blur gig.

- Heather's nephew won a t-shirt with his Eiffel Tower photo - here's Heather wearing the prize at the Basilica of Our Lady of Peace, in Yamoussoukro, Cote d'Ivoire. One good turn deserves another!
- Not for the first time, here's Angus in an interesting location. This time he's in Port Said, Egypt. If he carries on with the photos, he'll soon have a wardrobe full of t-shirts.
- Looks like a coat might have been a better choice but glad to see Drew Coyle sporting his Clachaig t-shirt in Times Square, New York.
- Giant Tom took his Clachaig t-shirt to Paris and visited the Eiffel Tower.
- Angus sailed all the way from Dundee to Rio de Janeiro with his Clachaig t-shirt - and sent us a photo of the airport! It's the thought that counts!

- Here is me on Mt Kinabalu in Sabah. 3776. Not even half Way through our 4 hour descent of the world highest via ferrata.
- Ray Griffiths on the Grand Paradiso at 4061m above sea level.
- No, not a t-shirt. We rejected that one as it didn't have the world's tallest building in it. So instead, here's a Clachaig Buff and Dubai's Burj Khalifa.
- Jane Gilbert's husband in a US Air Force plane in Hawaii (yes, hard to tell!) with the lights of Honolulu behind.
- John Campbell at the Refuge de la Pointe Percée, a high mountain (2,164 metres) refuge underneath the mountain of the same name, La Pointe Percée, in the Aravis range in the French Alps in the Haute Savoie.
- Ben & Jakob Fox Kennedy proudly wearing their Clachaig t-shirts whilst doing a spot of sand buggying in the Sinai desert, Egypt in July 2013. Nice one guys! You're winners!

- Larry Kost on the summit of Nak Peak, Coquihalla Pass, B.C. Canada with Yak Peak behind.
- David proudly advertising with Clachaig t-shirt and buff at Everest Base Camp on 22nd November 2012. Wondering whether we add this to a new gallery for the Clachaig Buff in an interesting location. Is that a separate category?
- Seems like a long shot from Everest Base Camp but that's Clachaig t-shirts for you. Nothing if not versatile!
- This T-Shirt was seen in July 2012 on a trip to the Mount Waddington Range in the Coast Mountains of British Columbia. Mount Waddington behind the climber, Bruce Cassels.
- 8000m peak climbing god Al Hinkes posing beneath the world's 2nd highest mountain before carrying on to climb it (& 13 other 8000m peaks)
- Nick Crane also joins the ranks of t-shirt wearing celebrities who have fallen on hard times and so have taken on a 2nd job helping out at Clachaig.
- Now this is more the sort of thing we had in mind. Iain Alexander took his Clachaig t-shirt to Petra, Jordan and thinks he's Indian Jones.
- Clachaig's very own Ed Daynes earning a crust carrying a porter's load in the Hushe Valley of Pakistan. We later had a game of cricket.
- Steve's Clachaig t-shirt took a trip to see Scotland versus Italy in the Rugby 6 Nations. Unfortunately it didn't bring the national side much luck in the result!
- Neal and Wayne in their Clachaig t-shirts on the Presena Glacier, Passo Tonale, Italy. Doesn't look much like t-shirt weather but chances are that as Clachaig customers they are well'ard!
- Maybe he's a geordie, or maybe its global warming!
- Looks like he caught it on a quiet day.
- Head and shoulders above the rest, but not sure what happened to his body?
- Regardless, John Edlington is quite clearly proud enough of his Clachaig "Probably" t-shirt that he has chosen to wear it at his son Paul's wedding.
- Probably the best pub in the world - even in Corsica. Kindly submitted by R Emery
- We think this qualifies as interesting. Pictured is Niamh Kirwan from Dublin, sheltering in her Clachaig t-shirt in 40+ degrees, by the mosque at Goosfand Sara, Iran.
- One of the few hotels in the world that are nearly as famous as Clachaig!
- Our first mug shot! Here's the Clachaig thermos mug being used on location in Cuba. The ideal travel companion. It keeps the coffee hot and the beer cold! Thanks Ian Parker.
- Larry Kost on the summit of Mount Dione in the Tantalus Range, British Columbia, Canada
- We asked for interesting and we reckon that Death Valley will do! Here's Neil Bird keeping cool in the Mojave Desert, California.
