Inn-Mates
We are now inviting applications now for Inn-Mates, also known as General Assistants, to join the team for positions commencing from early April 2019.
We will be looking for a commitment until the end of October for any applications.
- Bar Work – working in our bars, ensuring the smooth, courteous and efficient service of food and drinks. Preparing the bars for opening, keeping bar and approach areas clean, and closing down at the end of the day.
- Develop an extensive knowledge of ales, whiskies and gins. An enthusiasm for furthering product knowledge is required.
- Additional shifts helping in other areas such as housekeeping possible.
- Previous experience of similar work is an advantage, but not essential.
- Cheery, positive, can-do attitude essential.
- Full time hours, usually based on 40+ hours per week. Some split shifts are inevitably. We aim to provide 2 clear days off each week, and usually achieve this.
- Weekly pay with a rate of £7.83 per hour.
- Medium to long term commitment. Join us for the 2019 season.
- Possibility of live-in accommodation if required, subject to availability.
- References essential.

Marketing Co-ordinator
Clachaig is known worldwide and has a highly regarded reputation for the warm and welcoming nature of our hospitality. This enviable position has been gained over the course of over 3 decades of dedication to the core values of providing accommodation, food and drink.
In an ever more complicated world, the business has grown to the point now where we are seeking to appoint a marketing co-ordinator to work directly alongside the senior management team and the directors to ensure that Clachaig and the associated businesses continue to be a force to be reckoned with.
The Challenge
To work directly with the Managers and Directors to provide a marketing role for the business.
To continue to spread the word about Clachaig Inn, Clachaig Holidays and The Grog & Gruel, through a variety of channels, most notably own web sites, social media and direct mail.
To identify further marketing opportunities for our serviced and self catered accommodation, our bar and food outlets and all associated elements of the business such as music and events, and merchandise.
To ensure that all activities and spend is results driven, based on statistical evidence.
The Tasks
Continued management of the content and performance of 4 web sites
Create monthly eNews marketing emails
Build on social media engagement using existing channels on Facebook, Instagram and YouTube.
Engage with PR on an ad hoc basis
Build on in-house marketing and cross promotion activities
Identify further marketing activities
The Requirements
To deliver in this role it is anticipated that you will be able to demonstrate a results driven track record in a similar marketing position.
A broad knowledge of web site management and optimisation and traffic analysis
An overview of social media channels, particularly Facebook, Instagram
Experience of direct mail campaigns
Market knowledge of the hospitality sector, preferably in the Highlands of Scotland
Good organisation and communication skills
The ability to create good copy and manipulate images
Live within the wider local area. Remote working is anticipated but regular visits to Glencoe & Fort William will be required
It may well be that you already operate a marketing function for other clients and are looking to build your portfolio
It is anticipated that the hours required will be approximately one day, or 8 hours per week and as such, this position will slot in with other working or family commitments.
The engagement may be on the basis of either employed, or self employed status.

Commie Chef
We are now inviting applications now for Chef’s to join the team.

We will be looking for a commitment until the end of October for any applications.
We are an award winning Inn and we’re looking for a Commie Chef to come and be part of that team. Our Kitchen is small but very efficient and can easily produce 300+ covers per night in the summer. We don’t use fancy French terms and you will work in all areas of the Kitchen instead of being stuck in one defined role.
The job is full time and year round or it can be seasonal. Rate of pay is negotiable depending on experience and you will be paid weekly and by the hour. There is currently staff accommodation available for those looking to live in. If you live out we offer pick up and drop off for shifts, from Glencoe Village.
We are looking for a hard worker who is passionate about working with food, someone who wants to come in to learn and develop their skills.
The role will involve everything from breakfast service, prepping for the day to being on the hatch and getting all the orders out. You will also be responsible for maintaining records and following HACCP procedures.
You should;
- Have previous experience in catering.
- Be able to work independently to a high standard, but also be able to fit into an established team.
- Be able to produce freshly cooked food from base ingredients to high standards, including breakfasts and meals throughout the day and evening.
- Thrive working under pressure at times. Like most catering operations, when we’re busy, we’re very busy!
- Be keen to learn new skills and make a positive contribution to a highly reputable food business.

Housekeeping
We are now inviting applications now for housekeeping staff to join the team for positions commencing from early April 2019.
We will be looking for a commitment until the end of October for any applications.
You need to be a self-starter, and keen to get stuck in. You should also be aware of personal and food hygiene matters, and health and safety procedures. You must be keen to learn new skills and acquire detailed product knowledge. You must be presentable in the eyes of our wide range of customers from all walks of life.
Our Housekeeping team start at 08.00 where they will serve our residents breakfast. After Breakfast you will assist in cleaning the hotel including 23 rooms and 9 self-catering properties.
Duties will include;
- Breakfast service
- Cleaning public areas, excluding the bar areas.
- Servicing bedrooms
- Servicing self-catering properties
- Taking delivery of laundry and stock deliveries
- Previous experience of similar work is an advantage, but not essential.
- Cheery, positive, can-do attitude essential.
- Full time hours, usually based on 35+ hours per week. We aim to provide 2 clear days off each week, and usually achieve this.
- Weekly pay with a rate of £7.83 per hour.
